What we do
Stevenage RDA group are based at Courtlands Riding Stables in Stevenage and give therapeutic riding lessons to young pupils from 3 special schools in the local area on Monday mornings, and to young adults on Thursday mornings, both in school term time.
Our riders face a number of personal challenges in life, but it is known that interaction with ponies and riding can bring great personal and physical benefits, and we liaise closely with the schools and other organisations to ensure our lessons support the work either within the pupils’ regular school curriculum, or other courses of therapy being undertaken.
Stevenage is one of around 500 similar groups throughout the UK, supported by a National Association where specialist training and advice is available.
We meet during school term times:
- Monday 9:15am – 12:00pm (local schools)
- Thursday 9:30am – 11:00am (young adults)
